In addition to her solid resume in film and television, Nancy Van Iderstine has won acclaim in Los Angeles for her many stage performances, most recently for her work in "Misconceptions" at LCGRT.  She's a regular on the improv comedy scene, and she received raves for her SRO one-woman show at the former HBO Workspace, “7 Years I Could Have Spent In Vermont .”

A multi-talented performer, Nancy has done hundreds of voice-over jobs, and is currently making a foray into classical singing, bolstering that three-octave range!  Member SAG/AFTRA/AEA.

In addition to performing, Nancy is a published writer many times over, and has helped promote hundreds of hit DVDs for various studios. You’ve heard her radio spots, bought DVDs with inserts she’s prepared especially for you, and seen her ads in Rolling Stone, Premiere, Entertainment Weekly, The Hollywood Reporter, Vanity Fair, People Magazine, US Weekly,  Maxim, Wired, Star, Spin, Cosmo, GQ, Esquire, The Smithsonian,  Snowboarder, National Enquirer, TV Guide, FHM, Parents Magazine, Parade,  Vibe, and various Christian publications, to name a few. (Wait – that’s a few?)

Raised to respect those on four legs as well as those on two, Nancy has developed a wealth of knowledge about animal rescue and care.

BURT LANCAT-STER
You wouldn’t know it from his picture, but Burt’s story started out sad – until the day the malnourished, exhausted, frightened, seven-month-old homeless cat discovered one of Nancy’s feral cat feeding stations.  Smart youngster that he was, Burt quickly volunteered for a life off the streets, and within days, he was neutered, inoculated, and welcomed as the newest member of a loving, permanent household.

Many other abandoned pets in Los Angeles aren’t so lucky.   Entirely because of human neglect, there are an estimated 4 million feral cats in L.A. County alone, left to fend for themselves on harsh city streets or frightening alleys, in abandoned buildings and cars – anywhere they can survive – perpetuating a virtually endless breeding cycle under treacherous conditions.

Having met her first feral face to face in the alley behind a recording studio, Nancy decided to start helping out.  Eight years later, she has considerable experience with the most humane, effective means to manage the otherwise burgeoning homeless cat population problem – TNR – the safe and harmless trapping of a homeless cat, having a qualified vet neuter and inoculate the animal, and returning the cat to its feral colony, where he or she will fed and cared for by a volunteer.  Burt and dozens of others like him are happy that Nancy has taken the time to be a part of this important, rewarding cause.
